Michael Elgin

Michael was a tissue donor, and we didn’t know that until the day after he passed away from a car accident. We were overwhelmed with a sense of awe that he had signed up to be a donor. It really helped us to deal with the great loss we were and are experiencing, because, in a way he is living on helping others, and possibly helping another family avoid the loss and grief we feel.

Our son was a very kind-hearted person who would help anyone out, if he could. His last gesture demonstrated that at the highest level.

We had never considered being donors (or that our children were donors), but after Michael’s gift to others, we realize how important this is. We found out he was able to donate corneas, and at least two people with vision issues were helped because of him.
