I hoped to be a direct kidney donor to my friends son. Unfortunately I was unable to help him and he died. I then agreed to be a non-directed donor. I donated my kidney in 2017. I later learned that I was the first person in an 18 person chain. Nine people donated and nine people received kidneys. I feel that I got more than I gave by donating my kidney. My plate stands for LIVING DONOR.
