I went into kidney failure at age 5 after an acute illness and lived with only partial function for 20+ years. My function continued to decline as I got older, and I had to start peritoneal dialysis. About a month after starting the dialysis, I got THE call and received a transplant in 2017. I proudly display my plate to honor my donor and help raise awareness of the need for more donors.
