The memory of your loved one lives on each day in the recipients whose lives were forever changed by your loved one’s gift of life. Live On Nebraska has several opportunities for you to pay tribute to their selfless act and honor their legacy of love and generosity.

The Tree of Life & Donor Memorial Bench

A sprawling butterfly bench sits underneath a Northern Catalpa tree that grows in honor of organ, tissue and eye donors at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska. We encourage you to visit the bench and tree located near the James Family Conservatory.

Create a Donor Tribute

Our donor tribute pages are a blank canvas to tell the story of your donor’s life, recount cherished memories and leave a lasting message of love. Each page includes a written tribute about the donor, a photo gallery and an optional video. To create a tribute page contact our Public Outreach team at Tributes@LiveOnNebraska.org or 402-733-1800.

Attend an Event Honoring Donors

Live On Nebraska hosts several annual events honoring donors and recipient.

The Celebration of Heroes is an invitation-only event for families of donors from the past five years. This casual event is typically held in June near Omaha and includes lunch, family-friendly activities and donor tributes.

Our holiday tree decorating events are held at hospitals throughout the state in December. Donor families, recipients and caregivers are invited to place an ornament on our remembrance trees in honor of the gift of life.

The Annual Donate Life 5K & Heroes Walk is the largest event in Nebraska bringing donor families, recipients and living donors together. The event is held in Omaha each April during Donate Life Month.

Share Your Story

Let your donation journey serve as inspiration for others to become a registered donor. You’ll work with our public outreach team to create a written or video testimonial that honors your loved one’s legacy and provides insight into the experience and rewards of being part of a donor family.

Volunteer to Support Donation

Increasing awareness about donation is a year-long effort. Donor families have a unique story to tell and we welcome your involvement in our promotional efforts. Volunteer opportunities include event participation and planning, administrative work and public education.
