JoAnna Downing

JoAnna was loved by so many. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was one of the most selfless people I have ever known.

JoAnna had the most contagious laugh. She could make others laugh, just from her laugh. One year she bought her siblings coffee mugs that said “The only present you need is being my sister.” She had 2 sisters and 1 brother.

She worked in healthcare. She was a nurse for many years working in nursing homes. She loved her job. She had a passion for helping people.

She loved dogs, video games, hard rock music, singing. She was a horrible singer, but she never let that stop her. She was a competitive person when it came to so many things, but she always made it fun. She was such a bubbly, goofy, fun-loving person and she will always be remembered that way.

In March of 2025, JoAnna passed away. It was fast and unexpected. She had talked about being a donor and helping others. So we knew that is what she would want. She was able to donate her kidneys and liver.

JoAnna will forever be missed, but never forgotten. We will always keep her memories and story alive. I love you, sister.
