Love that Lives On

As a wife. As a mom. As someone your family depends on—you help guide the decisions that matter most.

Organ and tissue donation is one of those decisions. It’s a way to turn an unexpected moment into something meaningful—bringing hope, healing and life to others.

Organ Donation

Organ donation offers the opportunity to save lives through the gift of vital organs such as the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, and more. A single donor can save up to eight lives, giving families more time with those they love.

Tissue Donation

Tissue donation transforms lives in powerful ways—restoring sight, repairing sports injuries, healing burns, and so much more. One tissue donor can help heal up to 100 people, making a lasting difference across many lives.

Birth Tissue Donation

Birth tissue donation is a unique opportunity for moms. After a healthy delivery, tissues from the placenta and umbilical cord—materials that are often discarded—can be donated to support healing and advance medicine.

Donation Facts You Should Know

  • More than 100,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
  • Anyone age 16 or older can register—regardless of health or lifestyle.
  • Donation is a carefully regulated, ethically monitored medical process with families at the center.
  • There is no cost to your family for donation.
  • Traditional funeral services are possible following donation.
  • Donation only becomes a possibility after everything is done to save a patient’s life. The doctors involved in lifesaving care do not decide if someone can donate.

Honoring Every Donor

At Live On Nebraska, we honor each donor and support families with compassion. Donors are remembered with a moment of silence before they gift the gift of life. After donation, families are included in our aftercare program, which provides ongoing care, communication and support, including invitations to remembrance events.

Why Talking About Donation Matters

You often carry the responsibility of guiding important family conversations—and this is one that matters. Registering as a donor is a legal decision. Sharing that decision with your loved ones ensures they understand your wishes and gives them peace of mind during emotional moments. Our conversation starters can help guide your discussion.
